Cross Atlantic Trio
The Cross Atlantic Trio, as its name suggests, is composed of three young promising guitarists David Strbac, William Marcil-Bouchard and Tizoc Romero (form. Nejc Pirnat) of European and American descent who’ve all converged on the city of Vienna.
They have made it their goal to present the refined sensibility and accessibility of classical music to a wider, modern audience. The ensemble’s youthful energy and fresh inventive take on repertoire brings new life to the concert stage. Their unique way of combining classical tradition with contrasting styles perfectly mirrors their complimentary musical abilities and personalities.
Accomplished solo artists in their own right (collectively amassing a total of 20 international awards), all three members value arrangements that dynamically shift and allow each individual musician the opportunity to show their distinctive qualities.
The trio´s current project features Spanish and Brazilian music, receiving constant acclaim from critics and the public.
In 2023, the C.A.T. performed this repertoire in a 3 month long European tour, performing in 15 different cities. This has also led to the trio recording their debut album, titled “Danza, Baiao e Samba” released in July 2024 by highly acclaimed Austrian label “Orlando records”. The album has received international acclaim by the American Record Guide, which has dubbed the trio to become a “household name” and praised the members for their youthful and energetic performance.

Of Joys and Sorrows
After a challenging time in both of their personal lives, Serbian guitarist David Strbac and Romanian violinist Ana Molnar-Popa form a friendship and a mutual understanding of the world. This inspires them to create a music programme, which will reflect life´s ups and downs and allow them to explore common curiosity of world music.
The duo was formed in Vienna in 2023, with a project bearing the title ‘Of Joys and Sorrows’, inspired by Pablo Casal’s memoir. It brings together the longing in Piazzolla’s Tangos and the vibrant collection of 7 Spanish folk songs composed by Manuel de Falla alongside other South American traditional pieces.
In 2024 the duo embarked on their first Summer Tour, performing in Austria, Slovenia and Serbia.
